Backstreet Flashback

This past Wednesday, I went with my friend, Heather, and her sister to the Backstreet Boys concert. Yes, the Backstreet Boys. Almost everybody I told about the concert laughed at me, but it was great! A complete flashback to my youth.
Growing up, I was a HUGE Backstreet Boys fan. And, I'm only a little bit ashamed to admit it. This was not the first, not the second, but the third time I have been to one of their concerts. Granted, the other two were both when I was younger than 16, but this was just as fun.

They are a little bit older (and fatter in the case of AJ) but they can still sing and dance. It was pretty funny and I had a great time. They played all the classics. Most of my teenage romances were set to a Backstreet Boys CD, so it was a fun, nostalgic night.
I even pulled out my old CD's and listened to them in preparation. Almost everybody else attending was also a female between about 18 and 30, so I fit right in!

Blogging Hiatus

Well, I haven't blogged in a while, but here are a few things that we have been up to:

I spent the past week in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, at a training for work. Where is that you may ask? Well, quite honestly..... in the middle of nowhere.

I brought my camera, and kept meaning to take pictures all week, but there wasn't much to take pictures of. I spent all day in a classroom learning about all sorts of fun tax stuff: AMT, NOLS, etc. I won't go on with any more details :)

However, one fun part of the trip was that I got to sit in first class on the plane. Gotta love traveling for business. First-class is awesome- I could practically lay down in my seat, they fed you meals (& snacks), and there is "lavatory" reserved just for first-class passengers. We traveled in style. Oh, and you know how in the movies when they hand out the hot towels in first-class that most people are not quite sure what to do with? I was one of those people.

We also have been enjoying the warm weather in Provo. The sun is finally here to stay. We enjoyed hiking with Lisa up Slate Canyon yesterday. Right above our apartment there is this really pretty hiking trail. We have lived here for two and a half years and just realized how much we like hiking up there a few weeks ago. And now we are moving out. How ironic. We do love to hike though.

And, as most soccer fans know, right now is the World Cup. We are of course rooting for the US, but Steven also has some pretty strong loyalties elsewhere.

Yes, he even dresses up for the Brazil games. The second picture is of Steven during the Brazilian national anthem at the beginning of the game against the Ivory Coast. He sung right along. It's pretty funny (& cute I think) to watch him get so excited.
